Joanne's first chemo session went super smoothly. We were in the infusion room at Madrona for 5 hours. The only casualty was when the IVAC machine and IV pole fell on my face (I was sitting in a chair). First aid was immediately rendered, and the bruising should fade in a few days!
The nurses were great, they have snacks in the kitchen, the recliner was super comfy, and they have internet hookups - what more could any couple want. I blessed both bags of chemo before they were infused - we visualized the liquid as the holy spirit cursing through her veins, cleansing her body of any ill cells.
Thank you, Etta, for the treatment buddy. He/she is yet to be christened - we'll let you know.
Thank you, everyone, for your supporting vibes. While I was praying at the beginning of chemo I saw an image of angels surrounding and supporting Joanne's body. Cool.

Love to you both...who'd have thought Janet would be the one that needed First Aid?
I thought of you all day and had similar thoughts as Janets. Healthy Spirit is at home tonight in you.
Kisses,
Sharon Allen
PS to all...no baby yet--that just saved me 10 calls for sure!
Thanks for the blessed news--- Happy to hear all is well (and you're now healing Janet ;-) Nothing like a little comic relief from the Universe, eh? ). May each successive treatment provide ever increasing ease and comfort. A-ho. And so it is.
Wishing you peaceful dreams.
Love,
Tess
Whoohoo! I'm sure the 5 hours went by like 15 minutes....tops. ;)~ (I couldn't resist, Ace.)
You were both loved from LOTS of cities today, and will be tomorrow as well.... Every time I see a cloud from altitude I think of you two, and the silver lining no doubt inside! And given the crappy weather all over the Southeast these days, it was no wonder the first treatment went so well!
Mucho Love-O,
Ace
Could it be that Janet is related to Chevy Chase or Molly Shannon of Saturday Night Live? Laughter is good at times like these, you just gotta work on your schtick without injury (lol).
And it sounds like you are at an Internet Cafe, very cool/hip (just like the patient!)
So the process of healing Joanne has started and, also, the start of a new life is winding up...it's Showtime! Everyone here is excited and bags are packed, cell phones at the ready...we'll keep you posted with bulletins throughout the day.
Peace, Love, Life.

Delighted to hear that Joanne had an uneventful day. Sorry, Janet that you were designated as the comic relief! I'm so glad that you could feel those around you holding you in our prayers. My prayers are now focusing on that all important nutrition!

All day, all night
Angels watchin' over me my Lord
All night, all day
Angels watchin' over me
Of course angels were spotted rising over Joanne. We were all right there. Thanks for the update. Sharon and Jerry, we're also standing by with our metaphysical catcher's mitts. Woohoo!
That is a pretty funny picture you paint, Janet!
I was taken aback by what appeared initially to be a typo in your entry but actually I like it a lot....holy spirit rushing through cursing the cancer and bring light....and pratfalls.....in Her place. Blessings on you both. :) jj
Jennifer is driving her team crazy with training empowerment. She's off and running as a PaceSetter.
Get well fast, Joanne!
Watch out for falling rocks, Janet!

Joanne I just spent about 15 minutes writing just the right words, then I had to redo my whole identity, so this paragraph isn't nearly as thought thru as the last, but the feelings of wishing you well or as near & dear in my heart. We have a photo of you (that Sharon gave us with you blog address on it) cradled in the Buddha's lap, I hope you can feel the cradling that we all have for you. Love & miss your smiling presence. Norene & Sean
Joanne I hold you in my thoughts daily and miss you, words come rather hard to put into this small square, so just please know you are living in Sean & my morning & evening moments together, we have your little photo that Sharon gave to us w/your blog address on it, it is cradled in the Buddhas' lap in our setting area. Sending our love. Norene & Sean
Hi Janet and Joanne
Lately I have been thinking about my angels a lot as they have been kept quite busy, but I had this vision of a group of angels absolutely cracked up laughing. There wasn't anything too funny going on with me, so I had to think about that. Later when I read your blog, I realized they must have been laughing with you guys. I love that image. Isn't God great, that our angels can laugh with us? I think of you often and you are both in my prayers always, Sally
