Joanne had a great day. A whole day with only Ibuprofen. We realized it was the narcotic pain med that was causing the nausea and other discomfort. Today she ate food, went for several walks in the garden and generally felt much better. In the picture she is wearing the prayer shawl that Sharon Allen gave her today. Sharon, as part of the Prayer Shawl Ministry group at our church, choreographed this project. Many of us knit one or more prayerful rows in the shawl that will give her protection and comfort in the months to come. Thank you to all who participated. There is a little angel sewn into the shawl and the following is the note attached:
"This shawl was created for you with love and prayers,
May God who formed your being,
Who knit you together in your mothers womb,
Who gave you the breath of life,
Renew you this day and give you hope to sustain you.
May this prayer shawl be a sign of Christ's healing presence.
May it warm you when you are weary;
May it surround you with comfort to ease your suffering;
May it encircle you with caring when you are in pain.
Wrap yourself in this shawl of comfort and pray. . .
Amen

Wow, it looks like you're wrapped up in love! After watching the "Tour of the Shawl" for the last week or so, and seeing the love and warmth put into it, I think that you have something to keep you watched over and snuggled for the years to come. (everyone should have something like this!! Brilliant!)
Great to hear that Mac and Cheese sounded good, too.
Hope to see the two of you soon,
Jerry Horner
J&J,
Never have I knit with such clear intention. Feel the hug of my fingerprints on the yarn. Breathe.
Love,
Nancy Kennell
I'm so glad to learn the nausea is gone, Joanne. You're one tough cookie against pain, this I'm sure of. Upsetting stomach drugs, however . . .
Dreaming of you as I awoke, as I've done since planning our get-together. In the dream, you were healing, strengthening, and there was lots of water.
How blessed you look in your lovingly knit Prayer Shawl, and beautiful, too. Sharon is radiant, I see, no doubt from spending so much time next to all those Prayers, and practicing such focused intent (Thanks, Sharon, for delivering Love to Joanne and Janet on behalf of us all) during the process. Thanks to the Angel and her message.
We're pullin' with you, and as Red says, "We're in this together."
Hugs, hugs, smiles, and our love as the sun smiles upon our day,
Tess H. and Zander
Joanne,
You look positively radiant in your healing shawl. We're keeping you in our hearts.

Oh what good news this is to be free from the nausea and pain managed with minimal meds. Joanne, I continue to see you out walking in your garden gathering in rays of light, fragrance and beauty. And it is so lovely to see you wrapped in your prayer shawl. I love it that each stitch and row is infused with the healing light and love of Christ.
Bob and I continue to hold you there.
Much love,
Jennifer

Sending you love and light from Halifax~ you look so stunning in that shawl. Big soft hugs, Mara
Hi you guys,
It is such a relief to see Joanne looking so cosy and good and to hear that the nausea is subsiding and the pain is manageable. Janet, make sure you tuck in under a corner of that red shawl and get some extra comfort! Both of you are real champs!
I'm off line for a couple of weeks - but, only electronically speaking. I'm staying on line for life in terms of healing prayers and love for you!
I'll be back from my travels on the 24th, eager to catch up on your news.
Meantime big hugs,
Peg
Hi Joanne and Janet,
Just a note to let you know we're still holding you Dear and in our hearts.
Here's a msg. from Z:
Hi Joanne,
I want to tell you that I ran 19 laps in my school fundraising jog-a-thon on Friday. It was fun. I had something I wanted to tell you extra bad, only I forgot. Have you heard of Jeckyll-Hyde? I've heard the story of him and he only has one eyeball. I'm guessing he ate the other one. His formula had eyeballs and a few flakes of dirt and some sunscreen. He went to the library to find this recipe. At the end of this story, the way I heard it, when he returned the book, the librarian asked him when he was Jeckyll, "Are you returning the book?" He turned into Hyde and said, "NOOOOOOOooooooo!!!!!!! RENEWING!!!!!! Wha-hhhaaa-haaa!"
I'm singing a song, "Jeckyll, Jeckyll-Hyde, Hyde, Jeckyll-Hyde, Jeckyll, Jeckyl-Hyde, Hyde, Hyde, Jeckyll-Hyde." THE END. By the way, "Who's Jeckyll?" The end, end.
(Whew. Potato soup tonight, nourishing and warm. Rest peacefully.)
Joanne, I'm making books to make kids smarter and they have addition and subtraction in them.
And now I have to tell you that I have to go, so, Bye!
Love Tess and Zander Wray
Comfort food like mac/cheese always tastes better. It's great to hear about your progress Joanne. I know that you will draw strength from being outside!!!

Dear Joanne and Janet,
I check in with your blog each day to see what you're up to. Whether there's a new entry or not, I surround you with love and healing energy. Just wanted you to know that as each day passes, you are surrounded with love in the shawl, in person, and in spirit.
Breathing deeply with you,
JE
Joanne,
I'm so glad you are home and surrounded by the northwest beauty and so many loving friends. The prayer shawl is lovely and it suits you very, very well. I'm still here praying for you always but specifically every am during my meditation. You look beautiful, friend...but even more important, you ARE beautiful! Darrell and I will soon be in Alaska for a week. We continue to work Usana--for ourselves and as a means to provide support for you. We'll get in touch upon our return and see how we might be of some service to you.
Love and blessings, Donna Gustin
Janet,
You are demonstrating such great love! My thoughts and prayers are also with you...remember to care for yourself! As for me, I've been busy working my RFF...one way I can honor your gifts to me.
Love and blessings, Donna
Hey there land of floods and rain,
Here's great thoughts and prayers from your home city of brotherly love. Wendy and I arrived in Philly last night and enjoyed a short trip into the Doubletree past all the sports fields - Wished I had my camera out to take pics for the boys. We've seen Betsy Ross' house, Washington Square (Tomb of Unknown Soldier) and the Liberty Bell so far - my hands are swollen - it is HOT here. Let us know if there's anything we can get for you from here - craving a Cheesesteak yet?
You look great in the shawl - glad I could knit a few rows.
We love you both lots,
gil and wendy
Janet and Joanne,
We are all thinking about you and sending our love and support. Thank you for allowing us all to be a part of your healing journey. Your support to Barb this last year through her breast cancer recovery meant so much to us. She is now a month out of chemo and cancer free:-) One step at a time, and before you know it we will soon celebrate your victory as well. Sending much love and healing energy in your direction.
Love,
Scott, Cheryl and Luna Perry
