Today we've seen real progress in Joanne's healing from surgery. She had that pesky nasogastric tube removed and is finally able to feast on broth, tea, and jello. Actually, jello never tasted this good to her! A journey of a 1000 miles begins with a few steps and three times today she stood and took about five steps. She's in good spirits and still mostly pain-free due to the wonderful epidural anesthesia. In the picture she is holding the button that dispenses pain-relieving meds - she's in charge and she likes that!
We are focused on going home - aiming for Monday. Hold the vision.
I read your comments to Joanne every day. Your thoughts, prayers, poems and eloquent posts are so supportive to both of us - we feel cradled by angel wings. Thank you.

Ace! You look fantastic! And you will be outa there in 15 minutes -- TOPS!
I am smiling often and deeply for you both!
Love,
Ace
How wonderful to see your photo today, Joanne!!! You are still emanating that magnetic radiance that draws us all near to you.
When eating jello becomes a giant step forward you know you are appreciating lifes greatest and simplest joys! I have learned that it's cool to ask for red jello if they give you green! (UGH!!!) Enjoy the gelatin and continue your healing. With much Love, marla and Steve Morrow
Great to see the twinkle in your eye Joanne. Did you get a bed Janet or do we need to keep that in our intentions still? Rest well for the ride home!
Love you both,
Bobbi

Lets see. Home on Monday, pickle ball Wednesday? I'm in Seattle on Monday, so will stop in if you are still there.
AL is off to a grand start. Peggie is Aristotle as usual. Nancy Jordan is assisting. I am grateful.
Much love,
George
Hi gorgeous!
Our treatments are obviously working as you look fabulous, healthy, prosperous and whole!
Moma and I gave you combined treatments today. We are so joyous and excited about your healing.
What a holy experience to walk this journey with you.
We are going higher yet!

Joanne & Janet,
It is great to see you looking so well. We are glad to hear that you continue to check items off your discharge list! We continue to send our prayers and healing energy.
Peace and love to you both.

I'm smiling ear to ear to see your radiance and smile, Joanne. Careful, they'll be callin' you "Trigger Finger" before long if you get too attached to that zap of feel good stuff.
Glad to hear you're getting up out of the bed and feeling the body move again. I can hear Coach cheering you on, and we echo her cheers as stated in a previous post--- we're that crowd that you have to push though as you move around your room, "Make way! Make haste! Joanne's on her way to win George in pickleball Wed!" (and down the corridor, the grounds, the city of Seattle, etc.) Fortunately, all eyes on you, you don't have to push us very far before we realize you're intentions to keep on walkin'.
Today I witnessed a commitment ceremony and all it's beauty, love, hope and promise therein. I couldn't help but think of you both, and your commitment to each other, and to the greater good of our community, and of all humanity.
Thank you for the example you set for us, in all areas of our lives, and your gentle determinations to "get us there." I'm blessed to have mentors and friends such as you, and tears stream my face in gratitude for your presence in my life.
Reading the posts from everyone else, seeing and feeling how much they adore and love you, and how profoundly your lives have touched theirs touches and inspires me.
As Janet said in her first post, Keep hanging onto each other and to your faith while you take each step, strengthening each other, and hear our celebration and cheers ..........
OK, well, you may need to tell us to be a bit quieter if it gets to be too much . . . ;-)
Big hugs and wishes for a great night's rest.
Love Tess H.
Joanne~
You are such a beautiful soul~
How wonderful to see you looking so radiant~ and taking baby steps too!
Bless you, one day at a time...one step at a time...we are with you in spirit...
Big lovin' hugs to you...

Allright now! Looking good, Joanne.
Keep on taking the little steps, pretty soon they add up to a lot of progress...and yes, Jello can be wonderful (if it is raspberry!)
Love you both, looking forward to seeing you at the beach.

Joanne and Janet,
What a great picture. Everyone should look so good after major surgery! Perhaps it is the sense of control- great to have that button in hand.
It was terrific to hear that you are already walking several times a day, Joanne.
Care in prayer,
Sharon
Hi you two,
I was on top of Baker yesterday doing my best to beam the cool white purity and immense power of that place into your hospital room. The climb and ski back down was fun, hard, fast, slow, a delightful dance, and a slog.
Thoughts of you two kept me present and grateful for every nuance of the experience and the companionship of my ski partner from the moment we left the car until we returned.
I look forward to accompanying you two on your current adventure until you too get "back to the car."
Joanne - glad to see you've got your finger back on the button!
Steve H
You do know that Jello makes pudding, too, right?
Praying for you!!!!!!!!!!
Sam (and Shannon
If I could push a button and look that good I would get one of those things! You look as though hundreds of people are cheering you on, which they are! Keep listening to all that cheering!
Love, Sally
ok - everyone is saying how fabulous you look Joanne, and it's true. Are you one of those who travels with hair and makeup? And if so, can I hire them? They're doing a GREAT job. Or maybe it's that magic button...I know when Tennel was ill I wanted to market blood transfusions - after one of those he was racing the halls! We'll work on visioning Monday - if that is what feels good to you. Take the time you need. Yeh to you both for the blog - we need to hear about you and from you and be WITH you in the healing.
With much love,
gillian and wendy
Dearest Joanne and Janet,
I am picturing you both deep in restorative slumber, healing worried minds and stressed bodies.
May your dreams reveal all the love being sent to you by the many whose lives you have enriched.
may all sound be mantra (even those **!*>>* beepers and pagers in the halls).
re the rain dance - sunshine earlier, clouds and wind this evening, but feels like rain soon -- the garden should still have deep moisture from last week, so the plants will survive, soon to thrive when your energy is home again (perhaps the slugs are slowed down a bit?).
Love,
Joanne Tullis
Dear Joanne,
I love your picture holding the button! You look beautiful and reveal that you are indeed the "Shining". I am visualizing you with all your energy circuits open...including your GI tract! Bless you, dear, for your courage and leadership even in this trial!
Love, Donna
Dear Janet,
My thoughts and prayers are with you too, my dear...that you may enjoy relaxing, healing sleep and be lifted up by those angel wings that helped us in the tai chi meditation pose!
Love, Donna
Joannio and Janet: We're still thinking about you all day, everyday, lots of loving thoughts, lots of thoughts of health.
Love to you both,
Nancy, Colin and Rob
