Still Waiting.. .

I haven't updated since there is no new news - we are still waiting to see a surgeon. Meanwhile, Joanne continues to have more pain and is very weak. Life for her mostly revolves around our "Stressless" chair in the living room. Virginia Mason has clearly dropped the ball. Today Group Health double-booked Joanne for an appointment this Friday with Dr. Grice. It's his first day back from Brazil and we are so glad he is returning. It appears no other physician wants to deal with this peritoneal port issue.

Our dear friends Cindy and Sheila have just flown in from Houston, and Cindy will be able to take Joanne to Seattle on Friday, as I am giving an all-day workshop here in Bellingham. So, we may be spending the weekend in Seattle - or not. We have no idea what the next step will be.
Waiting for Grice. . .

Looked for a poem--for out of control times, how's this?

Zero Circle by Rumi

Be helpless, dumbfounded,
Unable to say yes or no. Then a stretcher will come from grace to gather us up.

We are too dull-eyed to see that beauty.
If we say we can, we're lying.
If we say No, we don't see it,
That No will behead us
And shut tight our window onto spirit.

So let us rather not be sure of anything,
Beside ourselves, and only that, so
Miraculous beings come running to help.
Crazed, lying in a zero circle, mute,
We shall be saying finally,
With tremendous eloquence, Lead us.
When we have totally surrendered to that beauty,
We shall be a mighty kindness.

Sending love; and I know there are a mutlitude of miraculous beings hanging out, as evidenced by this blog!

Joanne/Janet,

Can we go to Trader Joes and pick something up for you? Just e-mail us a list and we are there for you. Between our schedules someone should be available at all times for helping you.

keeping you both in our hearts,

April, Jen, and Deb

Through the anxious waiting, through the weakness, through the pain, I'm squeezing your right hand.

Joanne & Janet - sending you love & healing light. I'm holding you in my morning healing mediations - seeing you as the radiant, vibrant being you truly are. Wondering if you're aware of Angel Flight - #888-426-2643. They're a wonderful organization of private pilots that work nationally volunteering to take people to their appointments for treatment. There are a lot of local pilots who are Angel Flight pilots. With about a week's notice you could be picked up at B'Ham airport and flown to Boeing (Galway Flight Services) - and perhaps have access to a car to borrow or rent - to get to your appointment within 2 hours. It has been a huge help to me. Sending you light and deep healing rest. Love, RoseAnn & Christopher

The journey to healing sure has presented with some bumpy roads. Sending you both lots of love. Visualizing Dr. Grice in a super hero outfit, riding in on a white horse, hooking you up to the super juice and saving the day :)

Dear Joann and Janet,
I'm back from China and checking the blog--for some reason I keep thinking you've been in Seattle yesterday and today. Maybe just close to my heart.

Cat typing is when the cat in one's lap keeps hitting the keys--I had to delete some of that, since I wasn't sure it would make sense.

sending much love, Ruth
