Today is chemo day (infusion of the holy spirit), so Joanne and I are camped out at Madrona for five hours and had fun coming up with the top ten best things about being bald this summer:
#10 Passing by a mirror is a totally entertaining experience.
#9 Bald is bold. You get big smiles and thumbs up just walking down the street.
#8 The ventilation is great, especially when the thermometer passes 80’.
#7 No worries about earrings being hidden by flowing locks. And the bigger the earrings, the better.
#6 You have instant community with others in "the club".
#5 In Paris, bald is totally “in”, so this is a great excuse to go to Europe.
#4 It’s fun to wear hats and scarves you forgot you had.
#3 Big savings on hair products, hair cuts and coloring.
#2 You have a great palette for head art.
#1 You never have a bad hair day.
Anybody out there have anything else to add to the list?

Love the new look! And especially love the news about the healing that is going on!
So sorry about Bennie. He was a really good kitty.
We are just home from France and thought of you both often while we were there, especially since Joanne had coached Richard a bit before we went. Yes, he did love the women's beach attire on the French Riviera. You knew he would, Joanne.
Here's to even more healing and more boldness!
Love,
Pam
Don't forget sunscreen!
Dear Joanne and Janet,
I am awestruck by your individual and collective beauty! What you teach us as you shine! I walk straighter and with more courage because of you! What a gift!
I'm so glad your appetite returned, Joanne, and pray that it continues to be a pleasure.
To each of you, I offer a healing session of resonance repatterning, polarity therapy or just being present. Because of who you are, you have attracted many loving friends to be present at this time. If there is a moment when my particular presence will be of benefit, I am grateful to offer it.
I will be out of town July 11-17 but just email (donnagustin@comcast.net) or call (676-5179) if or when you desire my presence and I will plan a visit.
Love to you both, Donna
3. More room for brain expansion.
2. More direct contact area for head massages.
1. Inspires comparisons to Yul Brynner,"So let it be written. So let it be done!"
Joanne, you are SOOO beautiful in every photo. You go, girl!
The reports of shrinkage bring big smiles to my face and heart.
Janet, thank you for the reports. I so appreciate helping along your journey with the right thoughts and visions at the right time.
Much love to you both, KarenSue
Cute!!
More positive about baldness:
-People asking to rub your head for luck.
-Being mistaken for Demi Moore, Sigourney Weaver and/or other famous previously bald-in-the-movies beauties.

Hmmm...I've got to think about this one.
OK, here goes.
"and I shall call him Mini-Me" Dr. Evil of Austin Powers fame.
Joanne, "nothing compares to you",Sinead O'Connor.
Big Daddy Warbucks, Lil' Orphan Annie.
If you had a bit more cone, you could be Primat (Jane Curtin) of the Coneheads.
Maybe Goldfinger of the James Bond movie, or quarterback Matt Hasslebeck of the Seahawks.
Lots of great bald people out there with you...I think it takes a ton of courage to do that and I give you major props for taking the plunge.
Love you!
Jerry Horner
PS...
another great bald person...
His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama Tenzin Gyatso.
Not bad company there, eh Joanne?
Peace,
Jerry Horner

Bald is beautiful! You look absolutely fabulous! What are you doing with all of that extra time now that you don't have to primp in the morning???
So, Joanne, this is what it's like to "shave?" You look Fabulous and definitely showing a Cathy Angell pose of Yourself, Your Woman in Power! YEAH! Thanks for your inspiration . . .
Hi Janet ;-)
I went online because there was a book I heard about a few years ago that talked about the spiritual growth one has when they shave their hair. I didn't find it, however, I did find that "shaving" is more in than ever. People actually gather together and celebrate baldness, and celebrate with each other the collective and individual experience.
The neighbor's cat I mentioned when we first moved in is still visiting a lot. I sat a friend's dog at our place this weekend, a large one that I cleaned up after a lot. As the cat came to partake of my crooning voice with the dog this a.m., I actually considered a cat.
I had dogs and cats, and horses to an extent, growing up. Z wants a dog something fierce. However, just like caring for a young'un over the weekend and experiencing the life, I dare say I'm not quite ready for poop patrol for a large mutt.
This a.m. as I watched dog and cat interact, I decided I'd more happily consider a well-trained kitty and its box. It's a surprise only because I've always favored doggies over kitties since my youth, mostly due to fur issues and allergies. Guess my spots are changing somewhat, when it comes to the animal being my responsibility and all that comes with it.
At the Farm, it was no big deal and we loved the Sheppards. Their "pets" took care of most their needs and we got the gravy of play, kind of like "grandmas" get to do with grandkids. In our new household, well, I'd say Z would fall into, "Mom'll clean that poop, etc."
Sending you big Meows and small Woofs as the sun sets . . .
Hugs,
Tess
