Resting comfortably at last

Thank you everyone for your kind, loving words.  I read them to Joanne with tears streaming down my face.

We have finally found the right drug combination which has ended the relentless vomiting.  Starting yesterday afternoon, she is getting a morphine drip and another drug which has allowed her to rest peacefully.  We are both getting much needed sleep!  She has moments of lucidity but is mostly sleeping.  It was so agonizing to watch her suffer and feel so helpless.  Hospice is such a blessing.

Thank you again for all your support, in its many forms.  I am so blessed.

Helpless is the perfect word for right now. I love to fix and would give anything to "fix" everything. Observing Gods plan as time continues, but still wanting to be of service. At least let me bring food to your doorstep. Joanne, I love, love, love you and miss you so much already!

Joanne,
The out pouring of love is so beautiful to see. You have touched so many lives. My heart is with you every day and I wish I could do something. I know you would ask me to support Janet because that's what you do. Don't worry, we will. I'm wearing my new favorite bracelets, they are beautiful and remind me of you. I will add them to the collection of the things that remind me of you. All my love. Shannon

The 16th Karmapa, when asked by his followers why he wasn't afraid or sad when he was in hospital, replied, "When you die, nothing happens, so don't worry."
He knew that the consciousness carries on and leaves the body behind.
So Joanne you're right when you say you aren't going anywhere.
Much Love and Happiness to you.

Here it is the next day, after I spent alot of time last night writing choosing the right words & then it wouldn't post, so try try again! It's strange to sit w/the thought of words that express the heart's feeling & all that happens is silence & waves of feelings. Thank you Joanne for the courage in your life, you are always there for all. So glad you have found comfort & in that comfort found peace. I cherish the times we shared together & the bracelets of which I still choose which one to wear every day. Love to you & Janet, Norene

Wishing myself by your sides to hold and support you in spirit. Singing songs to Joanne in my mind to ease her discomfort... or is that my discomfort that's eased?

Bless bless bless you two.

Hello Joanne & Janet!

I have just spoken with our mutual friend, Peggie Merlin, and she has encouraged me to post a message for Joanne. I met Joanne through the Excellence series and she quickly won my admiration for her warmth, her ability to exude joy and vitality and for her commitment to making a difference in the world. And what a difference she has made! Through her work with the Context and Usana organizations, through her beautiful jewellry creations, through creating and maintaining this blog, she has continued to make the world a better and more beautiful place. Joanne, I have commissioned (through Peggie)a piece of your jewellry. She has exquisite taste (in both jewelly and friends...wink..wink) so I know that she will pick the perfect piece for me and I will treasure it.

Joanne, I am celebrating you today! I am celebrating your goodness, your uniqueness and your
many special gifts you have shared so generously with the rest of the world. I celebrate you for affecting and inspiring so many of us and affirming for us how a beautiful life should be lived.

I am sending you prayers and wishing you peace.

Sincerely,

Colleen (Potvin) Carey

I am so blessed to know you both. I woke up this morning thinking of you, before I even read this post. My heart is with you both, and I don't have words for how much I appreciate you two for sharing all of what you are going through, and for everything you are, in this world.
wordless, much love, Ruth
