I'm finally In!
"Nothing in all creation is so like God as stillness". Meister Eckhart
So, now that Joanne's 24 hr bedtime is up, we are facing four days of "nothing to do". Get this - the entities say NO exercise of any kind for 8 days after surgery - not even 15" walks! No Quigong, no yoga - NADA! I was so looking forward to renting the old rusty one speed bikes they have in this village and riding around. That's out. My eight days is up, however, on Wed.
So, what is there "to do?" Well, walk the labyrinth, read, write, meditate, take pictures, sit in the garden - and LIE IN A HAMMOCK! One of my realizations is that I have hammock issues.
I went to lie in this thing - and immediately flipped over - head over heels and really hurt my hip and back. Interesting. I'm hammock impaired. We actually have one at home - but it hasn't been out of the storage closet for over three years! I obviously need some training - lots of time for that. Joanne has it down as you can see in the picture.
I have never moved so slowly, intentionally and mindfully for this long - except after major surgery on my legs or feet. There is nothing to rush to or for. Quite enlightening!
What are we going to do tomorrow? Watch the sunrise - and then ...

Love reading about your experience. Thank you for taking the time to keep us informed. Love to you both. Happy Birthday, Janet! Shannon
Just making a sign to let you know you are in my consciousness. Love Joanne's picture. Great vibes!
Here's a hammock hint: You can also lie ACROSS - especially if it's a nice, wide "matrimonial"- for a different kind of back support.
Huge love to you both, Peg
Happy Easter. Many of us will gather in the chapel this morning at 9:40 a.m. to send you body prayers! Hope you feel the loving energy wrap you in warm hugs.
And Happy Birthday a day late, Janet.
I am waiting for warm enough weather to have my hammock time--enjoy yours Joanne. It is a wonderful skill to have--glad you have conquered it Janet. Happy Easter. New life to you both.
Janet, Andrew is building a tree net at our house. Maybe you can continue your practice up in the top (okay - middle, alright....sort of nearish the bottom) of a quartet of big cedar trees! We love you. Blessings on both your heads. Janet and Erin
I love the photos of you both in the hammocks!
