The docs have finally communicated and it appears that Dr. Rubin is only comfortable giving Joanne's last chemo over three doses, instead of one. So that means that she will get 1/3 the normal dose this Wednesday, next Wednesday and the 21st. That will be the end of her chemo!
We will have much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving as we focus on her regaining her health and energy.
It has been three weeks since chemo and Joanne has been getting so much stronger each day. We're hoping the "mini-doses" will not have a huge effect on her energy - we'll see. She still needs to get shots to stimulate her red and white blood cell count.
The rat apparently has disappeared - hasn't been seen in three days. I hope he's moved on to greener pastures. He was a very cute rat. . .

You know, sometimes "you gotta dance with what brought ya"...so, the chemo is not quite they way you wanted, but, three weeks and you've got it knocked!
The dynamo that is Joanne has been looking good as of late, so, I'm looking forward to normalcy returning for Joanne, (and maybe a few pounds, too!)
Peace,
Jerry
Good, good news on the chemo front, and on Joanne's healing.
I think of you both so often, and send much love and light.
Hugs,
Betty
I have been following your blog with my prayers and this is such good news today, so close to the end of the tunnel.
with prayers and light
Hi There J&J,
What great news to behold this a.m. How glad I am that your Doc's have decided the protocol and that you have the PLAN. Glad your strength is returning, too, Joanne. Big hugs to you both, Tess and Z (home from school today, with good humor, but with fever after not feeling so good yesterday. Fortunately we have some homework for him to stay connected if he wants, 'cause he wasn't that happy about staying home.)
Back on the farm we always said if you want to know how many rats you have, multiply the number you see by 10. Janet, you need to get a bigger cat.
Go Joanne!
Love,
George
Yippee! I'm really stoked about flying in to BLI this weekend to spend a few days with you both.
We'll surely celebrate the successful completion of your chemo... hopefully with thousands and thousands of calories. ;)
Much love to you both,
Ace
We're home from our trip to Budapest and Malaga and checked in with the blog when we could. It's nice to be home now and follow your progress and reassure you of our support for both of you is this ordeal and remind you of how much you mean to us.

Hi Joanne,
The Wed eve is upon us and we're thinking of you and keeping you in our hearts as we get ready for bedtime routine. Trusting that your treatment today was e-a-s-y street. Big hugs and smiles from us to you and Janet, and those rat-chasin' cats of yours ;-) Tess and Z
Hello lovelies. It was wonderful singing with you on Sunday Janet. Excellent news that there's an end to Joanne's chemo in sight!
Speaking of rats and chemo - I have a funny story involving a rat in the kitchen, a large can of tear gas and a call to poison control.

Hi Janet and Joanne,
You must be so relieved to have a firm plan! (No more rat, no more waiting...hmmmmm). I see Joanne knocking out those last three treatments and shining with health, energy, and vitality. Much love to you both.
Cathy
Hi Joanne and Janet,
Tomorrow is likely treatment number 2, the second to last Wednesday treatment you'll ever have. No one more glad than you about that, but we're really happy for you, too. We are thinking of you over here as your completion to this adventure is soon. Stay strong. Big hugs, Tess and Z
Hi Joanne and Janet,
Over here thinking of you and your LAST day of chemo tomorrow, a perfect gift for Thanksgiving . . .
Happy Thanksgiving!
And, Janet, will be thinking of you as we move into next week and your upcoming surgery. I'm sure you'll come through with flying colors, back on your feet in no time, and without the "incidents (aforementioned)" you've suffered during Joanne's recovery . . . ;-)
Big hugs to you both / / /
AND, thanks for your inspiring strength, faith and patience throughout these months. As we've said before, "You Rock!"
Love Zander and Tess
