Summertime - Living is Easy

I realized it's been awhile since I posted, and I want to assure all of you, no news is good news.
The injections have worked very well and Joanne's white blood count is quite high at this moment. Other than a deep fatigue, she is doing well. Chemo is this Friday again.

My pleurisy has finally resolved and I can breathe deeply again! Since I have three free days and Joanne is doing well, I am leaving tomorrow morning for a three day solo kayak trip. I get to commune with the salt water and the seals. So feel free to call Joanne - she will probably want someone to talk to!

Many thanks to all the gardening divas who so graciously weeded and dug this week: Linda Diane, Shan, Kristi, Donna and Cindy. Your help was greatly appreciated.

Our summer has been very different this year, for obvious reasons. We have stayed close to our home, enjoying summer in Whatcom County and our gorgeous surroundings right here at Lummi Shore Road. We are grateful to Netflix, Village Books and our new children, Ginger and Fred for constant entertainment.

Zip, Zip, Zap! I'm having a Happy Attack!

GREAT on the white blood cell counts!!! Very, very wonderful news that those Agents are diligently active, and I trust, they will give little power to the little c. Fragrant as the coffee bean, yeah, I say, just as Joanne. "Like birds of a feather . . ."

Been sniffin' paint fumes, so never mind my crazy humor above. Zander's new school site is coming along. A project many, many months in the making, and all are optimistic for a successful job completed come opening school day next month.

Cedar Tree Montessori has renovated an old church on Broadway and Irving, and Z and I slapped colors upon the walls yesterday and today (and Z will attest he was also there last weekend with his Dad.) along with other volunteers.

Ginger and Fred would like one color best: sunburst orange. We'd never find them if they nested against one of those orange colored walls. Other colors are a very bright and deep yellow, an interesting ocean-mint green (in monitored amounts), white and colors to be determined. I won't tell you about the one color that failed, but, Fred and Ginger MAY give you an idea. Hmmm. No intentional pun there. Interestingly enough, there is not a lot of red or blue, though, a splash of Grecian Blue has wound up on a few doors, and may find itself in a small space in the upper elementary (the school is K-6th).

Needless to say, I'm quite beat.

Yesterday we took in the Mojo Music Summer Jam at the park and were entertained by young and talented musicians (including our friend, Austin) playing and singing songs I really don't have much clue about. Zander came home energized and got his guitar and jammed to his own wild and warped song, which included the antics of letting the guitar strap drop around his backside so that he played at his knees . . . etc. One young gent Z described as a "showoff" when he did the same, as well as lifting his electric guitar over his shoulder to play behind his head (it still sounded good!), and then between his legs. This guy was a part of Austin's band, and they played Metallica's Puppet, or whatever it's called . . . Maybe it's "Master." Yes. Zander was singing, "Faster. Faster. Faster." this a.m. and then I realized that though it was similar, they were really rockin', "Master!"

Janet, pleasant adventures for you as you commune with the natural world. I've another friend who is embarking on a solo backpack trip to Yellow Aster Butte, so, will have you both in my thoughts and prayers. It's awesome you both are taking time for yourselves, for quiet, reflection, and good outdoor air, and spiritual growth. Have great fun!

Joanne, may just give you a call as Z is out for his own camp trip . . .

Big hugs, and maybe some snores,
Tess

Hi Joanne
It was so nice to visit with you and meet the kids. Your gardens are beauiful and peaceful. What a wonderful healing place! I made it back before dark, tired, sore but in one piece.
Did you ever get the jacket? It's a cute little summer one so I'm hoping that it'll be delivered soon. I must need more blueberries or gingko because I don't remember the name of the lady who was going to deliver it to you. Maybe she's reading this - and you'll get it soon!
Paddling sounds great. Janet has a couple of beautiful days to enjoy the water. Lucky her.

Keep up the excellent work! I'm so happy you're doing well.

Love,
Peggy

What beautiful days for kayaking on the waters--- hope your adventures were peaceful, reflective, nurturing, and restful upon the beautiful waters of the Sound, Janet. Welcome home!

Joanne, I trust you had your own beauty, respite and fun these last days.

We're off to say hello to our new living space and are quite excited to enjoy the sunset while we intentionally prepare the space to receive us.

Moving. The Fair. Dogsitting. Moving. Company in town (Cindy S. and her new baby:-). AaAh, our new home. Should make for a delightful weekend and upcoming week.

Be blessed.
Massive hugs, Tess and Z

Dear Joanne,

It is Thursday as I prepare for Usana Convention and my thoughts naturally include you. I know that you have not missed a Convention in 10 years and that it is hard to miss this one. I acknowledge that...and hold you in my heart as you surrender to the highest good for you and your healing at this moment in time and space. I am reminded of words from T. Harv Eckart..."Be willing to do what's hard so the rest of life will be easy." You, dear friend, not only have wisdom but courage and I see you moving through and beyond this challenging time.

Naturally I will be taking you with me to Usana Convention...I can not do otherwise. Without your "shining" and your willingness to share yourself, I would not be where I am today. You have illuminated the way for me and for so many, many others. While I am still in process for creating the financial freedom of my intentions, I am ever so much more "me"--this is in large part due to your bringing Usana into my life (thank-you also, beloved Jennifer for personally sponsoring me and giving me so very much more!).

So as many of your people go off to convention, we take you with us. You are a REAL force within us...body, mind and spirit. We will savor each moment "double time" so as to pass on the experience to you energetically. Trust that you will be lifted up by each one of us individually and all of us collectively...as we are constantly lifted up by you.

With love and deep admiration,

Donna

Amen, Donna. Though I'm home this year, as is Joanne, for very different reasons, I feel same as you--- I thank you for articulating so well your feelings regarding Convention and how much Dear Joanne has carried us all through our Usana-Time and Beyond. Will be looking forward to feeling, hearing, seeing and celebrating USANA through all of you who DO get to visit one of the best Salt Lake events of the year. You got me right in the heart, Donna. Thank you.

Day 1 move complete. Whew. Day 2. Well that Fair is still waiting, and many, many more boxes . . . EEEeeek. Looks like it may take me a little longer than I thought to clear out'a'here. :-0)

Hope the waters are gently lapping against the shores this night, as you are both reunited after your respective holidays . . . Sweet dreams, happy hearts, Zillions of white blood cells dancin' to the tune, "Joanne Rocks this Bellingham Town! U-SANA! U-SANA! Joanne Rocks this Bellingham Town! Ex-Cell-Ence NW! Ex-Cell-Ence NW! Go, Go, Go, Joanne! We love you! We're filled with Grat-i-tude! Joanne Rocks this Bellingham Town! Hip, Hip-Hooray! Joanne is Healthy and Vital Today!"

Hugs,
Tess (Z asks, "And what about Zander?" Right-e-O. Love, Zander and Tess
